Action scenes in Maus feel very close up or personal, like we could be there in person. Portrayed in page 48 the reader gets to be in first person perspective starting with the third panel looking through the gun hole. It gives a relatable action sequence that follows because there was personal context to the action. Action throughout the book stay emotional and close to the reader to intensify the moments of suspension and stress.
